Giulianna Garcia and Riley Botting managed to place within the top 10 places in several events during JOs this weekend. Garcia swam a total of 7 individual races, 4 best times and scored a total of 31 points for Coral Springs Swim Club (Coral Springs Swim Club). She is the top scorer for the club in her age group. Botting swam 7 races, 3 best times and scored 16 points for CSSC.
A few days before JOs, FGC released its Top 10 Swimming Times List for the season. Riley Botting had the 2nd fastest time in 200 breast with 2:54.90. She made the list in 3 other events (50 breast, 100 breast and 100 IM). Giulianna Garcia made the list in five events (100 breast, 200 breast, 50 fly, 100 fly and 100 IM).
Day 1 Recap
Giulianna Garcia (10) finished 5th in 100 fly with 1:12.23 (best) and 7th in the 100 IM with 1:13.79. She finished 10th in the 50-yard freestyle with a best of 29.37.
Riley Botting (10) finished 3rd in the 100 breast with 1:19.08 (best).
Emily Robertson swam the 50 free and the 100 fly in 31.14 (best) and 1:21.37 (best), respectively.
Ryan Brander from Gold Group had a great race on Friday in the 100-yard breast. He finished with a time of 1:31.86 dropping 2.83 seconds.
Day 2 Recap
Giulianna Garcia finished 4th place in 50 fly with 31.95 and 7th in 200 free with 2:21.59.
Riley Botting swam the 200 free in 2:25.70 and the 50 fly in 36.81.
Kaitlyn Armbruster swam the 50 fly in 38.21.
Emily Robertson she swam the 200 free in 2:36.65 (best), the 50 fly in 36.10 and the 100 back in 1:20.27 (best).
Saturday was a day for 10-and-under relays.
The CSSC 200-yard medley Relay team made up by Robertson, Botting, Armbruster and Garcia took 3rd with 2:19.81. Results: 1. Wahoo’s of Wellington: 2:13.90; 2. SOFLO: 2:18.21.
In the 200-yard free relay, CSSC finished 5th with 2:05.12 (best).
Day 3 Recap
Giulianna Garcia finished 6th in the 100 free 1:04.35 (best) and 7th in the 200 IM with 2:37.41 (best, AAA).
Riley Botting finished 3rd with 36.87. The first place in this race went to Isabella Chambers with 35.70 and the second to Michelle Fernandez with 35.90.
Emily Robertson swam the 50 back and the 100 free in 35.79 (best) and 1:10.63 (best), respectively.
The 10-and-under Girls High Point Award went to Liah Perez of Wahoo’s of Wellington with 67 points. The second place went to Isabella Chambers of PST with 65 points and the third to Nicole Aguilar of Wahoo’s of Wellington with 64.
For the boys, the High Point Award went to Joshua Zuchowski of ECAC with77 points. Sebastian Lares took second place with 60 points and 8-year-old Kaii Winkler took third with a strong 58 points.
The Wahoo's of Wellington won the title in the Girls 10-and-Under catrgory with 212 points. Second place went to SOFLO with 116 and third to AquaKids Sharks with 107.
East Coast Aquatic Club was the top scorer for the Boys 10-and-under with 201 points. City of Hialeah Storm finished in second with 147 and FLA Aquatics finished third with 113.
