In January, the National team increased the intensity of the workouts and continued to prepare for all the championship meets next month. We tweaked the dryland and competed at our first meet in 2014. The Scotty Invitational was held at the Saint Andrews pool. We used the meet to assess where we are in the season, as well as pinpoint our weaknesses. We immediately got back in the water and started working on it.
We also had a team of brazilians training with us. It was interesting to see our swimmers interact while trying to speak Portuguese and vice-versa.
On February 12, we will head to Orlando with a group of 8 swimmers to compete at the Arena Grand Prix meet.
Our upcoming training trip has been picked. We will be leaving to Arizona to train at the Northern Arizona University. Located at 7,000 feet above sea level, we look forward to working hard and do some sightseeing.
I'm excited to see how we perform at our next swim meets.
