Coral Springs Swim Club's Steph Campo Swims Two More Best Times At Zones

Steph Campo of the Coral Springs Swim Club is red hot at the Southern Zone Age Group Championships in Rockwall, Tex.

The 14-year-old Florida Gold Coast All-Star has swam four best times over three days at the Rockwall ISD Aquatic Center.

On Thursday, she swam best times in the 200-meter backstroke in 2:33.66. She lowered her previous best of 2:34.94 to finish 20th.

Campo also swam a best time in the 100-meter freestyle in 1:03.74, lowering her previous best of 1:05.92.

Florida Gold Coast got its first individual champion in the boys’ 15-18 200-meter backstroke in 2:05.85 by Quinn Cassidy, 16, of St. Andrew’s Swimming. His previous best was 2:09.83. He was seeded second in 2:10.36 after morning prelims.

The meet continues on Friday with prelims and finals. Because of computer problems the relays and 400 IM results along with team totals were not posted.
